Popcorn Shrimp Reviews

YAY or NAY?

To: You

Happy Valentines day!

With love from Z&A.

The branch at Siglap wasn’t too packed at 1030 on a Friday night (which was great). Had the Bananas-Scotched and the Druggie, both sweet pancakes. Preferred the Bananas-Scotched, a medium stack sitting in a pool of rummy butterscotch. Pretty damn good. But a little too rich, recommend that two could share. The Druggie consisted of chocolate pancakes and strawberries in chocolate sauce. Oh did we mention that both came with ice cream? At $11 each it was pretty value-for-money. But sent us both into a sugar-induced stupor. Will try the savory pancakes next time.

Verdict: Yay for desert, but share!!

The Sushi Bar is in a little corner of Far East Plaza where you least expect you’d find a sushi bar! Best thing to have there are their Aburi rolls. Be it salmon or soft shell crab, they are downright winners. Aburi rolls come with seared slices of salmon and creamy tangy sauce on top which perfectly complement the seasoned rice and filling. They also have chalkboard specials, we tried the homemade tofu with century egg sauce, pretty good stuff. Decor was pretty sparse, but functional. Good place for after work chillaxed dinners.

Verdict: An all round yayyy!

Verdict: yayyay! Pretty authentic korean food. Their kimchi packed a powerful garlic kick while the Galbitang/갈비탕(featured in this picture) was very hearty. They also have great lunch deals, and BBQ buffets as well. A great treat for your taste buds.

Table Manners is a delightful gem tucked into a quaint nook of Changi City Point. Lunch was value-for-money - $13.50 for two veggies and a meat. The menu is flexible, you pick vegetable/meat combinations in various permutations for your meal. The steak is recommended and the buttery mash potatoes are pretty divine.

Verdict: definite yayy!!

Situated in the expat enclave of Cluny Court, the place was packed at lunchtime. Lack of soft furnishing caused noise from customer chatter to bounce around and made it somewhat unpleasant. Specialize in sandwiches. Food was decent - fresh and pleasant for a quick bite but nothing really to call home about. Liked their daikon pickle that accompanied as a side. Service was kind of slow (15min wait). Overall nay unless you’re in the neighborhood.
